Here’s that yummy recipe for the Cranberry Jello Salad we had at our ADM! Thank you Becky Ludacer for sharing!
Cranberry JELLO salad
1 large pkg any flavor RED jello
1 envelope Unflavored gelatin
2 cups hot water
2 cups cold water
mix until disolved
Add 1 # bag of fresh cranberries that has been chopped in a food processor
1 cup sugar
1 whole orange (seeded) (chopped in food processor)
1 apple cored (chopped in processor)
1 small can crusherd pineapple undrained
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts) optional
Mix all together and put in a large jello mold and let sit in refrigerator until set. I usually make it a few days in advance to assure that it is set. Goes great with chicken or turrkey
or ham. Great addition to Holiday meals.

Welcome to GFWC District 9
We will publish news and happenings within District 9 here. We will also keep you posted on up coming events at Federation.
You are welcome to send comments.
We had a wonderful Awards and Memorials meeting on May 7 at Sebring. Thank you to Betty Wickensimer for volunteering the use of her clubhouse and for making coffee. Thank you to Bette Tierman for making the great pasta salad, picking up the wraps, and the pies!
We remembered 13 women who had passed away over the last two years. It was moving. Sebring came to our rescue with battery powered candles when they saw I had planned to use real ones. What a great club! And, they found spring colored table cloths to go with our table favors of little potted flowers and spring colored tableware.
Rob Mixon and his wife Nancy gave an informative program on abused women. His wife had been an in an abusive marriage and it was heartbreaking to listen to how she explained it and how she has moved on. They counsel women in the Sebring area. He also remided us that women (and children) are not the only ones abused, men are also victims of spousal abuse but we do not hear as much of that. The cycle of abuse is complex but people like the Mixon’s are working to help change lives.
We shared a lot of news amoung the clubs who attended: GFWC Womans’s Club of Lake Place, GFWC Woman’s Club of Sebring, GFWC Woman’s Club of Lake Wales, GFWC Woman’s Club of Winter Haven, and GFWC Cyber Florida. Pictures will be posted when I get them. We also had a list of all Federation Meetings upcoming and received a host and a potential host for two District 9 meetings. We had a report from the Nominating Committee which is working on the nominations. We will elect a new District Director and Junior District Director in October.

Thanks for the blog report. We had our installation of officers on Monday, May 9. It was a lovely installation. We used the “Collect” . We received 2 more new members. We enjoyed the District 9 Spring meeting. Thanks for making the trip. We also have a new member that is really interested in getting a Jr. Club started. Tell Teresa Bright she may have to make another trip to Sebring! My new Vice president is willing to work with her.
